Production of the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD kicked off earlier this year, as Ford Authority was the first to report. Since then, we’ve seen those production figures continue to climb after starting out a bit low, as one would expect for a brand new, bespoke product. Regardless, one thing that hasn’t been revealed to this point is just how many Ford Mustang GTD models will be built in total before its production run is up. Now, we know exactly what that particular figure is.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the Ford Mustang GTD production run is currently capped at 1,700 units, which is a pretty decent number, considering that model’s lofty price tag that starts well over $300k. It also means that Multimatic has quite a few GTDs left to build, based on the production numbers we’ve been tracking since that model entered production months ago.
Multimatic produced just two Ford Mustang GTD models in January, none in February, three in March, one in April, and 10 in May, though things ramped up in a big way after that month had passed. In fact, in June, a grand total of 31 Ford Mustang GTD models were built, and that number increased to 35 units in July. More recently, in August, we learned that Multimatic built one more unit than the month prior – 36 – which brought that model’s year-to-date total up to 118 units through the first eight months of the year.
As Ford Authority exclusively reported back in 2023, the production run for the Ford Mustang GTD may very well be extended, however, beyond the automaker’s original goal of 2,000 units, due to high demand. It’s unclear if anything has changed since then – after all, the new 1,700 unit target is a bit lower than that mark – but it wouldn’t be surprising to see such a thing happen. After all, we saw production of the Ford GT extended before its discontinuation, too.

I'm sure if the demand is still there, Ford/Multimatic will make more. Afterall, whose not about making $$$?
