In recent times, we’ve witnessed as the Fox Body Ford Mustang has become a red hot collectible, watching values soar to startlingly new levels along the way. It certainly seems as if those who’ve been seeking a low-mile pony car of this vintage at a fair price could be out of luck at this point, with more special variants – like the SVT Cobra – even reaching the six-figure mark at auction in recent months. Now, this 1993 Ford Mustang convertible looks to join that upper echelon of pony car prices, which it might pull off thanks to its incredibly low mileage total.
This 1993 Ford Mustang convertible has just 65 miles showing on the odometer, in fact, and it’s scheduled to cross the block at Mecum’s Dallas/Fort Worth sale in early November. For reasons unknown, this single-family-owned Fox Body has been stashed away in a garage since 1993, leaving the final year model in basically new condition throughout. Notably, it’s one of just 1,503 such models that left the factory that year finished in Canary Yellow, which is paired with a black convertible top and 16×7-inch chrome pony wheels in this case.
The same is true of the perfect interior, which features black leather upholstery with power front bucket seats, plus amenities including air conditioning, power windows, locks, and mirrors, plus a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Power for this Fox Body Ford Mustang comes from the naturally-aspirated 5.0L V8, originally rated to produce 205 horsepower, and it’s mated to an automatic transmission. According to the seller, the car is bone stock, save for an aftermarket fuel pump and tank.
Interestingly, back in February 2024, we spotted another Canary Yellow 1993 Mustang convertible, though that one had 4k miles on the clock at the time. Otherwise, there have been some stellar Foxes out there for the taking lately, including a ’93 GT with 400 miles, and a ’93 SVT Cobra with 4k miles.
Turns out, there's a big difference between GT and GXL.
Designed to look like a '90s Rusty Wallace racer.
