The Ford F-150 Lightning debuted for the 2022 model year, but hasn’t yet been treated to a refresh or redesign – just several updates with each passing model year. We won’t be seeing the arrival of the next-generation F-150 EV until at least 2028, and the current model is facing some fresh challenges amid weak demand for electric vehicles in general, coupled with the elimination of the federal EV tax credit. However, two 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning trim levels are at least getting a bit cheaper, it seems.
As first spotted by CarsDirect, the 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat is getting a $2,000 price cut, bringing its MSRP down to $74,995 for the new year. Additionally, the Flash is receiving an even larger $4,000 price reduction, and will now start out at $65,995 for the new model year. It’s currently unclear if destination charges will change as well, but for now at least, we’ll assume that they’re standing put at $2,195.

Though the 2025 F-150 Lightning debuted with no price changes versus 2024, certain trims did get more expensive during the course of that model year. The XLT went up by $1,000, the Flash by $2,000, and the Lariat by $2,000, with the range-topping Platinum being the only trim that held the proverbial line all year. Those interested in leasing a new F-150 Lightning can take advantage of the now-dead $7,500 federal EV tax credit a bit longer as well, at least, on existing inventory, as Ford Authority previously reported.
Production of the F-150 Lightning at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Michigan will be paused next week, as Ford Authority reported earlier today, due to a fire at a Blue Oval aluminum supplier’s plant. Regardless, the 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning lineup is set to gain one big change – the addition of the new off-road-focused STX trim, which replaces the XLT and adds a standard rear e-locking differential, the same running boards as the F-150 Tremor, and a set of all-terrain tires wrapped in unique wheels.
