2026 Ford F-150 Lightning Switches Up Mobile Cord Offering Again

The 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning still supports the North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter, which allows owners to tap into the Tesla Supercharger network and its thousands of charging locations nationwide. However, for 2026, that adapter's availability changes slightly: it's no longer included with Ford's Mobile Power Cord.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the NACS Fast Charging Adapter is now a standalone extra for the 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning instead of being included in the Mobile Power Cord bundle. The Fast Charging Adapter is still optional on all trims - including Pro, Flash, STX, Lariat, and Platinum - but must be ordered separately.

The Mobile Power Cord is still offered, too, but like the NACS adapter, it's a standalone extra offered on all trims. That means in order to acquire the features formerly included in the Mobile Power Cord bundle, 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning owners must purchase each power cord separately. At the time of this writing, pricing for these options has not been released. For context, on the 2025 F-150 Lightning, the NACS adapter is offered for $200 by itself, while the charge cord runs $520 on its own.

The 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning gets some other changes in addition to the aforementioned mobile cord availability. The all-electric pickup loses the USB ports inside its frunk, although mobile devices can still be charged inside the cabin. The standard-range battery is also a thing of the past, meaning all F-150 Lightning variants are powered by the extended-range battery, which delivers an estimated driving range of 300 miles while delivering 536 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque. The Dark Elements Package is also a thing of the past.

It's not all deletions for the 2026 F-150 Lightning - the brand-new STX trim joins the lineup as an off-road-oriented model, featuring a standard e-locking differential, blue accents scattered throughout, and meaty off-road tires wrapped around unique wheels. The STX steps in as the replacement for the XLT trim.

Surprisingly, the 2026 Ford F-150 Lightning is actually a bit more affordable than its 2025 model year predecessor. The STX trim - which replaces the XLT trim - starts at $63,345, not accounting for destination freight charges (DFC).
