Here’s How Many Ford Mustang GTD Coupes Were Produced In September 2025

Production of the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD got off to a bit of a slow start early this year, which is to be expected for a brand new, bespoke machine that begins life as a regular old, partially-built pony car, only to be shipped to Multimatic in Canada for its rather comprehensive transformation into a $300k+ track weapon. Those figures have increased pretty much every month since then, and as Ford Authority recently reported, Ford Mustang GTD production is beginning to ramp up in a big way, which started to show in the month of September.

According to FoMoCo’s Q3 sales report, Multimatic churned out a total of 41 new Ford Mustang GTD models last month, which is a new record for that particular model. Previously, Multimatic produced just two examples in January in fact, none in February, three in March, one in April, 10 in May, 31 in June, 35 in July, and 36 in August, which means that it has now built a grand total of 159 units through the first nine months of the year.

There’s quite a lot of work yet to be done, however. As Ford Authority exclusively reported last month, production of the GTD is currently capped at 1,700 units, though it could be extended if demand warrants such a move – as was previously the case with the Ford GT, though it seems as if the production process with the GTD is a less complex. “They’re making more and more of them. This is a simpler build than the [Ford] GT, so they can make them faster,” a source explained to Ford Authority.

As Ford Authority previously reported, the GTD starts life at the Flat Rock Assembly plant in Michigan, where it’s assembled to the point where it reaches body-in-white status. From there, these partial Mustangs are shipped to Multimatic’s facility in Markham, Ontario, Canada, where the car’s assembly is finished.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. Cool.
Brett, any word on what the new trim of Mustang is going to be about or when details will release? Ford seems way behind on this. New GT500, BOSS 429, Godzilla engine, supercharged 5.2, awd, V8 hybrid. What is going on with the car???

  2. Yes, please share some new information! Hopefully, it will be NA, since there are already at lease four supercharged Mustang options out there (Steeda, Hennessey, RTR, and Shelby American).
