The NASCAR Ford Mustang teams have won every Cup Series championship since 2022, but that streak won't continue in 2025. All Mustang racers were eliminated from the 2025 Playoffs, leaving Chevy and Toyota to duke it out for the overall title. But that doesn't deter The Blue Oval's teams - they're focused on winning the final race of the season on November 2nd, even though it won't net another championship.
Ryan Blaney, the 2023 Cup Series champion, knows his way around Phoenix Raceway. He has 20 starts at the track, and he's gunning for a new streak after his seven straight top-five finishes earlier this year. Unfortunately, Blaney's No. 12 Ford Mustang gave up the ghost when the division visited Phoenix in the spring, but he boasts nine top five finishes and 13 top 10s, including four P2 finishes. That means he's in good position to win, even though he's no longer in contention for the title.
Meanwhile, Joey Logano - who won Phoenix both times he sealed the deal on the Cup Series title in 2022 and again in 2024 - has four victories at the track. In his 33 starts, more than half were top-10 finishes, while he boasts nine top fives.
Both Logano and Blaney were eliminated at Martinsville last weekend. Blaney put up a fight, finishing second to William Byron's No. 24 Chevy after a bump-and-run knocked the No. 12 Ford off the top spot. Though Blaney was less than a second behind Byron, he was in a must-win position to advance in the Playoffs. Logano's quiet eighth-place finish resulted in a similar story. That leaves two Chevy racers, Byron and Kyle Larson, plus the Toyota teammates Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe in the Championship 4.
While Ford's Cup Series hopes are over this year, there's still hope for the Truck Series. The Blue Oval has wrapped up four consecutive championships in the division, and NASCAR Ford F-150 driver Ty Majeski is in position to go back-to-back this year. Last year, Majeski led 132 laps, although his victory was also his first-ever top 10 at Phoenix.
