The Ford Mustang just celebrated 60 years of existence, which is rather notable in a fickle industry where consumer trends tend to change quite a lot over time. Despite those ever-changing times, America’s pony car has remained a popular option for those seeking a sporty ride, and it has also been memorialized in various ways – whether that be on the small or big screens, or in various models and die-casts sold over the years. Soon, that list will expand yet again, this time, to include a brand new 2012 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 diecast.
As has been the case on many occasions already, this new 2012 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 diecast will come from the folks at Greenlight Collectibles, which just provided us with some renderings of the future 1:64 scale model. It didn’t provide too many details about the new diecast, but did note the size, along with the fact that it will be finished in Performance White with black stripes.
This new Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is just the latest of many pony car diecasts that have graced the catalog of Greenlight Collectibles in recent times, however. This past March, that included the addition of the 1969 Ford Mustang that appeared in the John Wick movie series, which was referred to as a rare Boss 429 in those flicks, though it was actually a Mach 1.
In June, that big screen star was joined by a 1967 Mustang coupe diecast from Garbage Pail Kids, which was originally referred to as the “Skii’n Ian’s Mustang” – finished in blue metallic flake paint and matching blue-wall tires.
