New Lincoln Inventory Levels Well Above Average In September 2025

New Lincoln inventory levels have ranked among the highest of any automotive brand for quite some time now, and even the highest on more than one occasion. That isn’t ideal for the luxury brand, of course, but it’s also potentially good news for folks looking to score some incentives on leftover 2025 models, at least. Regardless, Lincoln inventory levels swelled to new heights in September 2025 – even by that brand’s previously lofty standards – as the entire industry experienced a bit of a glut in terms of vehicles sitting on dealer lots.

According to new data from Cox Automotive, Lincoln inventory levels closed out September at a 142 days’ supply, which was the highest in the industry – beating out Ram by five days. In August, Lincoln ranked fifth on this list with a 112 day’s supply of inventory, but now, that same spot is occupied by the Ford brand – which saw its days’ supply of inventory grow from 101 days in August to 113 in September.

Meanwhile, the overall market saw its inventory levels increase by 4.8 percent to 2.87 million new vehicles in September, compared to 2.71 million at the conclusion of August – largely due to slowing sales in the last two weeks of the month. Overall days’ supply of inventory increased from 78 days’ to 84, which is a 7.2 percent increase month-over-month, and 1.6 percent higher than a year ago – not to mention the highest point since Q1 2025.

However, as Cox Automotive points out, both Ford and Lincoln inventory levels could creep lower in the coming months due to a recent fire at an aluminum supplier plant, which is already impacting production of more than one model – a list that includes the Ford F-150 Lightning at the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center, as well as Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator production at the Kentucky Truck Plant, and the soon to be discontinued Ford Escape and Lincoln Corsair at the Louisville Assembly plant.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
