While Saleen is perhaps best known for its work revolving around the Ford Mustang, that same third-party company has also churned out performance parts and turnkey upgraded versions for/of several Blue Oval models over the years. That includes the Ford Focus Saleen N2O, which is a rare, rather unique version of that hatchback, complete with a variety of exterior styling updates and some functional performance upgrades. Only 75 examples of the Focus Saleen N2O were built in total, and now, this one is up for auction.
This 2005 Ford Focus Saleen N2O is currently being auctioned off at Cars and Bids, but it's no garage queen - rather, this hot hatch has 89k miles on the clock, signaling that the previous owners have driven the rare machine quite a bit over the years. Regardless, it remains in good condition, with just the typical scratches and imperfections marring its Pitch Black paint. The Focus was involved in an accident back in 2013, but that apparently wasn't too serious.
Otherwise, it's pretty easy to tell this Ford Focus Saleen N2O apart from its more common brethren, thanks to the presence of a full Saleen body kit, graphics and badging, and 17-inch TSW Revo wheels. Inside the cabin, one will find white-faced gauges with Saleen lettering, leather upholstered seats with Saleen embroidery, and an ID plate near the shifter base declaring its limited-edition nature.
In terms of performance, there are a lot of additions here to help make this hot hatch even hotter - the original 2.0L I-4 was treated to a Saleen ECU tune and center-exit exhaust, a cold-air intake, and a 75 horsepower wet nitrous system. Without the shot of NOS, those upgrades lifted output from the stock rating of 136 horsepower to 152 ponies. Additionally, the seller has added some suspension goodies such as aftermarket dampers, springs, and polyurethane bushings, plus a rear disc brake conversion kit.
In addition to this Ford Focus Saleen N2O, we've seen a few others hit the auction block in recent years - a list that includes another Pitch Black 2005, a 2004 model finished in the same hue, and a red 2004 model with just 24k miles on the clock.
