The 2019 Ford Explorer is expected to receive a handful of minor changes, after the Explorer received a second update/facelift for the 2018 model year.
The 2019 Explorer will represent the ninth model year of the fifth-generation Explorer. As such, it is expected to be the last model year of the fifth-gen model before the all-new 2020 Explorer launches the sixth generation of the Explorer nameplate.

The 2019 Ford Explorer is offered as a full-size, five-door crossover utility vehicle (CUV).

The 2019 Explorer is assembled at the Ford Chicago Assembly Plant in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
The 2019 Ford Explorer is expected to follow the regular Ford model year rollover sequence, and launched in the third quarter of the 2018 calendar year.
