2026 Ford Maverick Updates, Changes, New Features

The 2026 Ford Maverick receives a variety of small changes for the fifth model year of the compact pickup’s first generation.

These updates follow the introduction of the Maverick for the 2022 model year, minor updates for the 2023 and 2024 model years, and a mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year.

Model Line

The 2026 Ford Maverick continues to be offered as a compact pickup with front-wheel-drive (FWD), all-wheel-drive (AWD), or advanced four-wheel-drive (4WD) across five trim levels.

Mechanical

  • Addition of 2.0L EcoBoost with front-wheel-drive (FWD)
  • Tire inflator and seal kit now standard on Hybrid AWD and 2.0L EcoBoost models
    • For the 2025 model year, a conventional spare tire was standard on these trims
    • For the 2026 model year, spare tire is no longer standard on these trims, but is still standard on the Tremor trim and included in the FX4 Off-Road Package; the spare tire is also available as a standalone option on all other trims

Exterior

  • Deletion of black Ford ovals
    • For the 2025 model year, black ovals were standard on the Lobo and Tremor trims and included in the Black Appearance Package on XLT and Lariat
    • For the 2026 model year, blue Ford ovals are standard on all trims; black Ford ovals are not available as factory option, but can be ordered from Ford Performance
  • Color changes
    • Addition of two new exterior colors:
      • Marsh Gray
      • Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat
    • Deletion of two exterior colors:
      • Eruption Green
      • Desert Sand
    • This keeps exterior color availability at nine options:
      • Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat
      • Carbonized Gray Metallic
      • Oxford White
      • Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat
      • Shadow Black
      • Space White Metallic
      • Velocity Blue
      • Marsh Gray (new for 2026)
      • Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat (new for 2026)

  • FX4 Package no longer includes unique wheels for XLT trim
    • For the 2025 model year, this package included a set of unique 17-inch aluminum wheels as standard, or 17-inch Carbonized Gray painted aluminum wheels as an option
    • For the 2026 model year, XLT trims with FX4 Package include standard XLT 17-inch Painted Aluminum wheels; unique FX4 wheels are not available

Interior

  • Rear seat armrest with cupholders deleted from XLT trim
    • In its place are Ford Integrated Tether System (FITS) kit console cupholders that attach to the rear of the center console; these are standard on XLT
    • XL trim did not include a rear seat armrest and, as a result, did not include seat cupholders in the rear seat armrest
    • Lariat, Tremor and Lobo all continue to include a rear seat center armrest with integrated cupholders
  • Power-sliding rear window is now optional on XLT, Lobo 402A, Lariat, and Tremor trims
    • For the 2025 model year, power-sliding rear window was standard on these trims
    • For the 2026 model year, power-sliding rear window is optional on these trims while fixed rear privacy glass is standard
  • Deletion of wireless phone charging pad
    • For the 2025 model year, this was standard on Lariat and included in Lobo 402A equipment group
    • For the 2026 model year, this is not available at all
  • Deletion of six-way power passenger seat from XLT Luxury Package
    • For the 2025 model year, this was included in this package
    • For the 2026 model year, this package includes a four-way manual passenger seat

  • No changes

    • One-year or seven-year subscription options available on all trims
    • Content:
      • Unlimited Wi-Fi Hotspot
      • Audio and Video Streaming
      • Voice Assistant
      • Entertainment
    • For the 2025 model year, this package was not available
    • For the 2026 model year, this package is offered on all trims
