2019 Ford Focus ST Wagon Spotted At The Nürburgring: Spy Shots

Here in the United States, we haven’t had the option of a Ford Focus station wagon in some time, let alone one in a sporty trim. Across the pond in Europe, however, the market is much friendlier toward roomy wagon models, allowing Ford to offer the current third-generation Focus as a station wagon – even the Focus ST.

On that note, a Ford Focus wagon wearing a full suit of camouflage was spied testing on Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife recently, stoking the theory that Ford Motor Company is already conducting performance tests on its next-generation Focus ST. Among the styling cues on this prototype that point to its likely ST-ness are a unique black grille with hexagonal pattern, gulping front fascia side inlets, big black wheels wrapped in low-profile rubber, and a jutting rear spoiler.

The all-new, 2019 Ford Focus is tipped to be unveiled in the second half of 2018, with the new Focus ST likely not far behind. The North American market will source its Focuses (Foci?) from China for the first time ever, as Ford’s planned small-car manufacturing plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico was scrapped and the Michigan Assembly Plant is getting ready for Ford Ranger/Bronco production.
