The all-new Ford Capri EV debuted for the European market last July, after which the all-electric crossover began arriving at dealers in October. Though demand for the Ford Capri EV and Explorer EV have thus far lagged behind expected levels, The Blue Oval did recently announce that it would be adding cheaper models to the lineup of both soon, coupled with some tweaks in terms of equipment. In the meantime, we’re seeing more and more famous folks vouch for the Ford Capri EV, specifically, and the latest we can add to that list is Swiss musician and TV personality Baschi.
Baschi has been tooling around in a Vivid Yellow Ford Capri EV Extended Range AWD model for a few weeks now, using it as his own personal “tour bus,” and it seems as if he’s quite impressed with the all-electric crossover, in general. Aside from providing enough range to get him from venue to venue, Baschi appreciates the copious cargo capacity of the newest Capri, not to mention its understated style. “I don’t need a status symbol – I need something with character,” he said. “The Capri is not smoothed. It has corners, edges and style. Just like me – on a good day.”
Baschi isn’t the only famous person driving around in a Ford Capri EV these days – rather, as Ford Authority recently reported, The Blue Oval teamed up with football (soccer) legend Eric Cantona to create a special, one-off version of that model inspired by his playing career and personality, too.
Starting with a RWD Extended Range model, that team chose Signal Orange as the EV’s exterior color – a historic hue used on several Blue Oval models from the ’70s, including the Mark III Capri. It’s accented by gloss black stripes, Cantona’s number seven, a gloss black Ford Design logo, black 21-inch wheels, and the player’s signature on the front wing, plus a gloss black rear spoiler as well.

Dear Ford friends,
In this article, you say “Swedish Musician Baschi Endorses Ford Capri EV”.
For your information, Baschi is not “Swedish” (from Sweden); he is “Swiss” (from Switzerland), like me :-))
May be you can correct if.
Kind regards from Switzerland,
Manfred Spycher.
Baschi is “Swiss”, not “Swedish”.
Who cares. Maybe the reason its sales are lagging is because it’s ugly. Other manufacturers’ styling studios are putting out nicer looking product than Ford, these days.
I actually think it looks much better than the Mach-E Mustang it is probably based from! Suprised did not sell it here as a new Falcon?
Just read that the Capri chassis is the MEB platform from VW.
Ford are going to need to start rounding up celebrities by the truckload if they are going to kid ordinary motorists to part with hard-earned cash for this artless hearse of a thing.
