These days, we see our fair share of 11th generation Ford Thunderbird models on the collector car auction circuit, and for good reason – the retro-styled ride was widely considered to be a lock as an appreciating asset that owners could one day flip for big profits. Unfortunately for them, that hasn’t been the case, largely because there are so many of these T-Birds out there for the taking, most of them in great condition and with few miles on the clock. That’s also true of this 2002 Ford Thunderbird, which is now up for auction itself.

This 2002 Ford Thunderbird is currently up for grabs over at Bring a Trailer with just 2,800 miles on the clock, and it remains in the possession of the original owner, whose father purchased it for them as a gift. The Evening Black paint remains in great condition, but the rear bumper cover was refinished after a little mishap back in 2019. Otherwise, there are no bones to pick here, as the finish is perfect, which is also true of the 17-inch seven-spoke chrome wheels.

Inside, one will find a tidy and matching black leather interior with power-adjustable seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, the Audiophile sound system, and an AM/FM stereo with a six-disc in-dash CD changer.

As is the case with all Ford Thunderbird models from this generation, power comes from the naturally-aspirated 3.9L V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to produce 252 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, flowing to the rear wheels via a five-speed automatic transmission.

Among this and the many other modern T-Birds we’ve spotted at auction as of late, that list also includes quite a few other nice, low-mile examples – and even some limited-edition ones at that. Back in May, we spotted a 2002 T-Bird with just 7k miles, and in June, a 2005 007 Edition with 5k miles surfaced for sale, too.
