While it’s fair to say that Ford Mustang fans can’t stand the fact that the pony car has developed a reputation for being, well, a bit easy to crash, fans of other brands love it. Sadly, the fact of the matter is, we rarely go a day without coming across some sort of video showing a Ford Mustang crashing in some manner, too. Perhaps most embarrassingly, many of these crashes occur as a result of driver inexperience or their attempt at doing something completely stupid or illegal. That was once again the case recently when a Ford Mustang wound up in a creek following a bit of a road rage skirmish, but it wasn’t actually that driver’s fault.
According to KLTV, this particular incident occurred in Smith County, Texas recently, and began when the Ford Mustang driver approached a Chevy pickup towing a trailer. It’s unclear why, but the pickup driver reportedly began brake checking the pony car, which obviously didn’t go over well with its driver. Thus, the Mustang driver attempted to pass the Bow Tie hauler in the left lane – which was legal in this instance, according to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office – but that’s when things went horribly wrong.
While the Mustang driver was attempting to make that pass, the Chevy truck veered over into the left lane, forcing the pony car off the road and into a creek. Police found the Ford Mustang partially submerged in that body of water, but luckily, the driver was able to get out of the car and apparently wasn’t injured, though he was taken to a nearby hospital for precautionary measures.
As for the Chevy truck driver, they were arrested on a count of aggravated assault, a charge that could have easily been avoided had they kept a cooler head, apparently. Unfortunately for the Mustang driver, they also wound up getting arrested – not for doing anything wrong in this case, but rather, for an outstanding warranty on a charge of escaping from custody.

Didn’t know if you have an “outstanding warranty charge” you will be arrested. Must be a federal law for new cars. People please fix your cars promptly.
