For many years, there have been a number of Ford Ranger variants offered in other parts of the world that aren’t sold in the U.S. – including, with the most recent generation, a regular cab model. In places like Thailand, one can buy such things, and even the sporty, street performance-focused Ranger MS-RT, to boot. Thailand is also a place where The Blue Oval has long competed in racing versions of the Ford Ranger, interestingly enough, and those efforts continued recently with the on-track debut of the newest Ford Ranger race truck – a single cab model, to boot.
The brand new Ford Ranger single cab #3 racer made its on-track debut at the Bangsaen Street Circuit just last week, with 180 customers, Blue Oval employees, and media on hand to witness it. The pickup will be competing in the Thailand Super Series 2025 season under the Ford Thailand Racing (FTR) banner, with experienced driver Sandy Kraokaew Stuvik behind the wheel. Stuvik experienced a few issues in the brand new truck’s debut, but still managed to overtake seven rivals and finish 15th.
The Ford Ranger racer is powered by the twin turbocharged 3.0L V6 EcoBoost engine, and features a unique suspension, ventilation system, and bodywork. That much is clear from the low-slung hauler’s appearance, which is enhanced with a variety of aerodynamic upgrades such as a massive front chin spoiler, wide fenders, side skirts, and a rear wing, along with a large hood scoop to feed fresh air into the engine bay.
“The recent race at Bangsaen was a showcased the incredible teamwork and spirit of Ford’s racing engineers, technicians, and drivers, who worked tirelessly under pressure to get the truck back on track,” said Ratthakarn Jutasen, managing director of Ford Thailand. “We’re proud to continue offering these unforgettable experiences to our customers and employees. The Ford Thailand Racing team will now use the data gathered from both race trucks to prepare for the next races of the year.”
