The Mercury Marauder remains perhaps the most sought-after Panther platform car of the bunch, though they’re all pretty desirable these days. That’s to be expected for a high-performance sedan that was built in limited quantities, though we do see our fair share of Marauders pop up for sale, and oftentimes, in great condition with few miles on the clock, as one would expect for a model of that type. Now, this supercharged 2004 Mercury Marauder adds another option to the list for those seeking a performance-focused full-size sedan with a little collectibility built right in.
This 2004 Mercury Marauder is up for auction over at Bring a Trailer with just 15k miles on the clock, though it isn’t quite stock. Rather, the car’s original Ford 4.6L V8 has been treated to a Trilogy supercharger and a JLT cold-air intake, helping to provide a bit of extra power over the original ratings of 302 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque – though the seller didn’t provide any dyno data. Regardless, that power flows to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a 3.55 geared limited-slip differential.
On the outside, this Mercury Marauder features Dark Toreador Red Metallic paint – one of just 980 that left the factory in that hue – and it remains in seemingly excellent condition, with no flaws noted in the auction listing.
The same is true of the interior, which is in great shape with Light Flint leather-covered seats, an aftermarket stereo system, and amenities such as cruise control, power-adjustable pedals, and automatic climate control.
It was just this past March that we saw another 2004 Mercury Marauder finished in this same rare color, but it was bone stock with 24k miles on the clock. However, we did come across a truly cool and unique supercharged Ford Crown Victoria with the Kenny Brown P2 Panther Package recently as well.
