Wrong Way Ford Focus Driver Makes Illegal Left Turn: Video

Lately, a wave of viral videos has spotlighted some eyebrow-raising driving decisions made by Ford Focus drivers. Ironically, the Focus seems to host some inattentive drivers, despite its name, and another dashcam videos shows the sedan’s driver making a boneheaded move in a construction zone.

Appropriately shared on the r/IdiotsInCars community on Reddit, the dashcam capture shows a construction zone with lanes flanked by high-visibility markers and cones to direct traffic. The cammer – the one recording the video, for readers who may be unaware – is sitting behind a Chevy crossover, which conveniently blocks their line of sight and almost puts them in a bad situation.

Enter the Ford Focus. Said Focus somehow ignored rows on rows of cones and barriers and perhaps even signs that would have told them they’re in the wrong lane, because they’re heading the wrong way. But first, a red Chevy crossover makes an unprotected left turn in front of the cammer – one they had no business taking – and then, the Focus appears, headed the wrong direction.

Both the cammer and the driver of the Ford Focus hesitate for a fraction of a second, clearly recalculating every turn that got them there, each wondering if they’re in the wrong. The cammer is exactly where they’re supposed to be, judging by the “keep right” sign directing them into the lane currently occupied by the Focus. For a second, the Focus seems like it’s planning on going straight at the intersection, then hangs a left at the last second.

The video then shows a shot taken from the rear-facing camera, which clearly displays a “no left turn” sign right where the Ford Focus decided to make a break for it.

“Welcome to Utah. The only place where I’ve been hit by two unrelated drivers at the same time,” one commenter states.

This Ford Focus driver is right up there with another that bailed on a right-hand turn before deciding that yeah, actually, they needed to make that turn after all. And another that clearly didn’t know how painted lines work.
