2022 Ford F-150 Recalled To Fix Incorrectly Repaired Lighting

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2022 Ford F-150 models over a parking lamp flickering issue. Vehicles previously recalled under recall number 22V-686 that received an incomplete remedy, or have not yet been repaired will need to have the new remedy completed.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the parking lights may flicker when the headlights are activated. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The hazards: flickering parking lights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: LED Driver module

Affected vehicles: select 2022 Ford F-150 models produced between March 11th, 2022, and July 23rd, 2022.

Number of vehicles affected: 18,527

The fix: dealers will update the LED driver module software, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which have already begun. The Ford reference number for this recall is 23C36.
