Hertz and Shelby have long enjoyed a relationship that has resulted in several “Rent-a-Racer” models being produced over the past several decades. That partnership continued with the S550-generation Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H years ago, a model that was built in very limited quantities, which is precisely why we rarely see them pop up for sale today. When they do, those pony cars tend to conjure up plenty of interest among collectors, however, which is likely to be the case with this basically brand new 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H, too.
This 2022 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H is set to be sold at Mecum’s upcoming Monterey auction in California later this month, and it has just 25 miles showing on the odometer. It bears Shelby CSM No. 22H0197 and was purchased new by the seller – not delivered to Hertz for use as a rental car, as one might assume given the low mileage total. It’s finished in Shadow Black paint with gold Le Mans over-the-top and rocker stripes, plus a Shelby grille, spoiler and hood, paired with black multi-spoke wheels with Hertz center caps on the outside.
Inside, one will find an Ebony leather interior with Recaro seats sporting Hertz embroidery, adaptive cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, a 12-inch infotainment screen, dual-zone climate control, power windows, and power door locks, among other amenities.
Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, factory-rated to produce 450 horsepower, which is mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission and a Torsen limited-slip rear differential with 3.55 gears in this case. Underneath, one will find a Shelby by Borla exhaust system, as well as the MagneRide damping system.
Along with this ultra-low-mile Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H, we’ve seen some other notable examples cross the auction block as of late. That list includes a 2022 convertible that had 3,400 miles on the clock when it popped up for sale, as well as another that’s one of just six fitted with a supercharger.
