2025 Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon Officially Debuts

The last-generation Ford GT added a Liquid Carbon Edition option for the 2020 model year, one that came equipped with goodies such as exposed carbon fiber, standard carbon fiber wheels, and other unique features. Its spiritual replacement – the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD – is also already available in Carbon Series form and other variants, with goodies like an unpainted hood, roof, and rear Tech Deck, plus Magnetite wheels. Now, The Blue Oval has unveiled something even more, well, carbon-equipped – the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon.

The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon is the latest trim to be added to that track-focused pony car, and as one might imagine, it utilizes that lightweight material extensively. The Liquid Carbon model ditches paint and replaces the sheet metal in the doors with bonded carbon fiber, which saves a solid 13 pounds compared to the GTD Carbon Series with the Performance Package.

As is the case with the Carbon Series, the GTD Liquid Carbon features perfectly-matched carbon weave on the hood, roof, rear deck, and rear wing, along with fenders and side panels that provide a cohesive look as well. The Liquid Carbon gets unique black Brembo brake calipers, matching an anodized body with gloss-black GTD script, plus the Performance Package as standard equipment.

Inside the cabin, one will find a combination of black leather with Dinamica microfiber suede, plus Hyper Lime stitching on the seats, door panels, center console, instrument panel, and steering wheel. There’s also a reflective center gradient present in the middle of the seats, which adds another bright spot in the otherwise dark cabin. Deliveries of the Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon are slated to begin in October, but no pricing info for the new trim has been provided as of yet.

“Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon is the ultimate expression of the Mustang GTD’s high-tech, high- performance construction and is a reminder of the race-derived, cutting-edge capability that sits beneath the surface of every Mustang GTD,” said Mustang GTD Chief Program Engineer Greg Goodall. “Mustang GTD is a great looking car and now it stands out even more with its striking exposed carbon body and functional aero elements.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
