Earlier this year, the 2025 Ford Mustang GTD beat its own previous Nurburgring lap with a new best time of 6:52.072, placing it in rare company, at least, when it comes to production vehicles. Shortly thereafter, however, the Corvette ZR1 and ZR1X bested that time, after which The Blue Oval decided to bring out some of its EV demonstrators to see how they’d fare at the track known as “Green Hell.” The all-electric Ford Transit SuperVan 4.2 responded by ripping off a lap time of 6:48.393, but the Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck did even better.
The Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck has already tackled the iconic Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, but it also proved its prowess at the Nurburgring by lapping that famous track in a mere 6:43.482 – the fifth-best time of any prototype vehicle in history, while the SuperVan wasn’t too far behind in seventh-place. These are indeed impressive achievements, even if both of these vehicles are one-off race car builds.
Ford notes that these types of efforts do serve a purpose, aside from reshuffling the record books, as it’s using what it learns to help improve efficiency and aero on actual production vehicles. Regardless, the Ford F-150 SuperTruck is an impressive piece of work that includes three STARD UHP 6-Phase Motors and Ultra-High Performance Li-Polymer NMC cells, which generate a combined 1,600 horsepower, fed by a rather small 50 kWh battery pack, along with aero that generates 6,000 pounds of downforce at 150 miles-per-hour.
Thus, it should come as no surprise that the Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck was also quite impressive at the Goodwood Hillclimb Shootout, too. There, the EV pickup blazed up the 1.16 -mile course in just 43.23 seconds with Romain Dumas behind the wheel, who also piloted the SuperTruck to its overall win at Pikes Peak, as well as a new qualifying record for the open class.
The executive remains focused on that part of the world.
A nicely kept example of the sporty model.

Electrics are the best!
At about 5:40 it seems to top out at 262 and the driver lifts his right hand seeming to egg it on for more. Then at 6:10 or so seems to throw up his hands in frustration as the top speed seems to bleed off on the straight. Not until 6:30 does he touch the brake at a curve. He looks frustrated!
Probably could have shaved a few more seconds off if the motors cooperated..?
While Farleys obsession with the Nurburgring continues Fords products continue to be recalled in the millions.
