Back in March 2024, Stellantis revealed the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition, a special, limited-edition version of the V8-powered off-road SUV. What was particularly notable about this new model is the fact that it was supposed to celebrate the end of production for the V8-powered Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392, which was slated to be discontinued following the conclusion of the 2024 model year. However, it wound up living on for the 2025 model year, and now, the Jeep Wrangler 392 will be sticking around even longer.

According to Car & Driver, Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf gave us this little tidbit of information in a recent appearance, where he also reveled that the company will make a V8-powered version of the Gladiator, too.

“After being out at the Rubicon Trail, it’s clear just how much people love the roar of the 392,” Broderdorf said. “We will extend the availability of the 392 Wrangler, and in fact, we will tap the power and performance of the Hemi across Jeep products as new projects are already underway. Jeep fans, don’t worry, the 6.4L Hemi V8 will have a home at Jeep.” When asked if a V8 could also find its way into the Grand Cherokee, the exec didn’t deny that either, merely saying “people want options.”

If nothing else, this is an interesting pivot not only give the fact that Stellantis has been busy killing off its V8-powered models in recent years, but also, because those that purchased a Jeep Wrangler 392 “Final Edition” in 2024 or 2025 are now left with something that, well, won’t be quite as collectible, nor will it actually live up to its name.

In any event, the Jeep Wrangler 392 will at least have a direct rival to do battle with for the foreseeable future, as the Ford Bronco Raptor is slated to be produced at least through 2028, which is when The Blue Oval’s current master contract with the United Auto Workers union will expire.
