Pickup drivers have a bit of a reputation, and the driver of one Ford F-150 certainly didn’t help bust the stereotype in a recent viral dashcam video. In fact, they appear to have absolutely destroyed their rear tires without reason or provocation.
Posted to r/IdiotsInCars, a popular community on Reddit where members share the idiot drivers they catch on their dashcams, the video shows the cammer (video recorder) pull up to an intersection behind the Ford F-150 in question. The cammer states in the comments that they intentionally posted the 30 seconds leading up to the incident to prove that they had done nothing to provoke the driver of the F-150 prior to their display.
For a few seconds, the two vehicles just sit there, calmly idling at the light. Then, the driver of the Ford F-150 stands on it, snapping their rear tires loose against the pavement. Smoke billows out from the tires as the driver keeps it matted, pulling off a burnout that would have otherwise been impressive – if it were performed on a race track after a victory rather than at a stoplight. With the screech of rubber against asphalt, the Ford F-150 continues to spray smoke and bits of rubber at the cammer.
The cammer is understandably upset by the actions of the Ford F-150 driver, laying on their horn and shouting profanities at the driver as they peel out through the intersection once the light goes green. The pickup is long gone by the time the smoke clears. The tire smoke obscured the intersection, creating a dangerous obstacle for any motorists around them. The cammer says that they got rubber all over the front of their vehicle from the pointless interaction.
It’s not exactly smart to do burnouts on public roads, but this Ford F-150 driver was lucky that there wasn’t a cop around to witness their idiocy. The same couldn’t be said for a driver behind the wheel of a Ford SVT Lightning, who chose to do the same right in front of a policeman.
