Ford Motor Company has been competing in various forms of motorsport since before it was even conceived – back when Henry Ford won his first and only race in the Sweepstakes in 1901. Since then, The Blue Oval has expanded its racing efforts in a major way, with much of that push intensifying over the past few years. Now, as Ford prepares to enter Formula 1 racing as a power unit manufacturer and competes in everything from the 24 Hours of Le Mans to off-road events like the Dakar Rally, it has decided to rebrand its legendary Ford Performance unit to Ford Racing.
Ford Racing will take over for Ford Performance under its global director, Mark Rushbrook, with the goal of continuing to drive innovation for both road and racing machines. These efforts extend to customer racing programs and Ford’s range of performance vehicles, as well as merchandising operations, uniting the road and race car development programs under one neatly integrated operation.
“Today, we are announcing that Ford Performance is changing its name to Ford Racing,” said Will Ford, General Manager, Ford Racing. “But this is so much more than a simple rebranding exercise. This is the wholesale reintroduction of our racing brand and signals a completely new way of thinking about the business, brand, and products that our racing efforts bring to life.”
“Our new Ford Racing organization will bring our road and race operations closer than ever before. Under one global leader, our super-talented engineers, designers and aerodynamicists will find innovative solutions for the track and bring them to our road products – and vice versa. All this is being done to bring the best products, technologies, and experiences to our customers.”
“This name change re-emphasizes our core mission, our racing heritage, and simplifies our branding back to our competitive roots. It reminds people of why we race – to infuse the technological innovation and passion we derive from racing, and winning, into the products that our customers can drive every day.”
“You will start seeing the changes in our logos and our naming immediately, with the full new Ford Racing identity coming to life when we launch the new race season in January at Dakar, Daytona, and our Ford Racing Season Launch Event. What you won’t see change is our dedication to winning, innovating, and bringing what we learn back to the products that Ford Motor Company assembles and sells around the globe.”
“Ford Racing will continue to compete at the highest levels of motorsports. The Blue Oval will be in front of a global audience like never before, at venues as diverse as F1, Dakar, Le Mans, Bathurst and Daytona. And we are going in with the same goal we always have at Ford… to win them all. After all, we are America’s race team!”
Yellow isn't everyone's cup of tea, but it looks great here.
Complete with a push bar.
It remained with the original owner until earlier this year.
Can be paired with every paint color except black. Obviously.
Matching green and everything.

Of course, the logo is different than the previous Ford Racing logo. They need to bring back and FOCUS on Quality is Job 1. A record number of recalls shows that Quality is NOT Job 1!
They will recall the name change, like they recall everything else
So, it used to be Ford Racing. Then, they switched it to Ford Performance. Now, it’s back to Ford Racing. Glad I kept all of my old shirts. Thank you.
