In recent years, mobile vehicle apps have exploded in popularity, giving owners a more convenient way to control certain features and also easily schedule service. That includes FordPass, which has grown its user base by a tremendous amount over the last few years. After doubling those numbers from 1.3 million active users all the way up to 2.4 million in 2020, FordPass and Lincoln Way users surged to eight million by the end of 2021, with a 91 percent adoption rate – and those numbers have only grown in the years since.
“And one statistic that I’m really excited about is that we’ve got 12 million monthly active FordPass users,” Mike Aragon, President of Integrated Services at Ford, said during a recent fireside chat with Goldman Sachs. “So FordPass is a great conduit for us because sometimes customers are just using it to unlock, lock their doors, sometimes they’re checking the diagnostics, that’s okay. It means they’re active.”
“But it’s also a really efficient way for us to communicate with our customers about service needs, about what’s happening with their vehicle. And it’s also our path to potentially upsell to BlueCruise and other services because that’s where those transactions can happen. And so we are starting to see people come along in the journey, 12 million monthly actives is a number that I was surprised by, but I was pleasantly surprised by that.”
Aside from proving popular with users, the FordPass app has also ranked well in some recent studies. That includes a strong showing among all mass market brand apps in the 2025 J.D. Power U.S. OEM EV App Report, which is designed to gauge user experience and satisfaction with those types of applications. FordPass ranked fourth among all mass market automotive brand apps with a score of 794, placing it behind MyHyundai (820), Kia Access (808), and Mini (797), but also above the rest of the pack, plus the overall segment average of 712.

I like Ford Pass. It is convenient to turn on the vehicle; it also has a connection to my dealer. It’s a great offering from Ford, not to mention the “points” that add up and get me free stuff.
