$10K 2023 Ford Maverick From Copart Turns Into Great Deal: Video

Odds are, if a vehicle is being sold on Copart, it’s not in the best condition. YouTuber Matt Ryan – aka NYKAuto – isn’t squeamish about picking up vehicles that need a little love, and this time, he got his hands on a 2023 Ford Maverick from Copart that just needed a little elbow grease to make it a fine specimen once more.

This 2023 Ford Maverick was totaled in a rear end collision, so first things first: Ryan needs to check for frame damage. Other than the obvious rear end damage, this Maverick actually looks to be in decent condition. He does notice that the crumple zones have been pushed in about a half inch on either side, but the damage is relatively minor. This Maverick is definitely worth saving since it’s practically brand new, showing just 37,000 miles on its odometer and almost zero evidence that it’s been driven at all.

Video still of the rear end of the damaged Ford Maverick picked up from Copart. It was in excellent shape despite being involved in a rear end accident.

Thankfully, the 2023 Ford Maverick fires right up. The engine is in peak condition despite the pickup’s rear end damage, so Ryan packs it up and sends it off to his frame repair guy. After just one week, the Maverick is back in Ryan’s hands. The frame pulled out “very nice,” and the receiver was able to be straightened out, too.

Now, all that’s left is reinstalling the rear bumper cover and putting the taillights back. The bumper – which was involved in the accident – still lines up perfectly. The lights work and there aren’t any error messages, and it passed the checklist with flying colors since it’s still so new. After an oil change, the Ford Maverick is ready to roll.

At the end of the video, Ryan reveals how much money he’s sunk into the Maverick. He paid $9,814 for the pickup alone, and after all repair and transport fees, he estimates that he’s in about $13,424. He’s asking $20,495 for it, meaning it’s a great deal for someone in the market for a pre-owned Maverick.

Ryan’s rescued his fair share of Ford vehicles from Copart, including a 2020 Ford Explorer ST, a 2017 Ford Expedition that was shot at, and a 2023 Ford Bronco Sport that was tattooed with a pentagram.
