Among the many parts and accessories that sixth-generation Ford Bronco owners can procure from the Ford Performance catalog, one of the more popular is the modular front bumper, which has been standard on select trims and optional on others over the years. Aside from looking rugged, this particular bumper also enables owners to attach all sorts of accessories up front, from brush guards to lighting and a few others in between. Now, a new Ford Bronco modular front bumper kit has been added to the official Blue Oval catalog.
This new accessory is the same modular front bumper that's already listed for sale in the Ford Performance catalog, but it also includes Park Aid capability - though one must reuse the front parking sensors from their existing, stock bumper. It's listed under part number M-17757-BMP with a retail price of $1,195, and fits all 2021-2026 model year Bronco SUVs. Otherwise, it's the same OEM bumper, skid plate, and tow hooks offered as a factory option, and it's been tested and validated to OEM crash standards, too.
This particular kit comes with a variety of parts, including the bumper shell, end caps, bumperettes, sensor bezels, sensor wiring harness, two hooks, reinforcements and mounting plates, a skid plate, intercooler brackets, seals, and all of the fasteners needed to install it. However, the factory LED fog lights from the standard base bumper are not compatible or useable with this heavy-duty unit, and it's also not compatible with the Bronco Raptor due to that model's unique bumper end caps and RCM calibration.
It's also worth noting that installing this modular front bumper requires a software update for the airbag safety system, which ensures that the airbags deploy properly in the event of an accident. For that reason, The Blue Oval notes that a Ford dealer or qualified technician should install the bumper, rather than the owner, given the fact that additional Ford vehicle software - specifically, an RCM airbag calibration - is needed.
