We tend to come across our fair share of Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor models these days, years after the sedan itself was discontinued. That makes sense given the fact that Ford built a lot of them over the years, and the police-focused Crown Vic was always a popular target for enthusiasts, thanks to its beefier, upgraded components. However, this 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is a bit unique in that it it's more than just another law enforcement veteran - but rather, a bit of a movie star as well.
Up for auction at Bring a Trailer, this Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor was a picture car for the 2025 movie Superman, which fans of that particular comic book character might have already figured out, given its Metropolis Police livery. Otherwise, it looks basically just like any other Police Crown Vic, with a black and white paint job, strobe lights, and a spotlight on the left A-pillar, plus black steel wheels with bright hubcaps.
Inside the cabin, one will find gray cloth bucket seats up front, along with a Pioneer touchscreen, an overhead display, an adjustable device mount, and siren and lighting controls. The rear portion of the cabin has window bars, vinyl upholstery, and a partition to separate it from the officer up front, too. There's even more gear present in the trunk - a push bar, an equipment rack with ammunition boxes, wireless networking gear, and a 750-watt power inverter.
Mechanically speaking, the police cruiser is powered by the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, factory-rated to produce 250 horsepower and 297 pound-feet of torque, flowing to the rear wheels via the 4R75E four-speed automatic transmission. Underneath, the sedan also utilizes stabilizer bars, plus revised springs and dampers compared to the civilian model.
It's a pretty safe bet that this particular Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor will appeal more to Superman fans than others, but we've seen plenty of similar models up for sale recently that weren't featured in movies - including a very nice 2008 model with just 42k miles on the clock.
