One of the best things about the Ford Mustang GTD is the endless color freedom thanks to its bespoke ordering process. It can be finished in just about any shade imaginable. We’ve already seen the track-ready pony dressed in pink and another wearing eye-catching yellow, and now, a fan of the 1968 film Bullitt is paying tribute to the famous first-gen Mustang from that flick, borrowing its iconic dark green paint.
The Ford Mustang GTD surfaced on social media, sporting an unmistakable coat of Dark Highland Green paint. Highland Green decorated the Ford Mustang Bullitt, which paid tribute to the film. That model was produced for just two model years – 2019 and 2020 – meaning the color is extremely rare in the modern era, making it perfect for the equally uncommon Mustang GTD.
This Ford Mustang GTD is the only one wearing Highland Green so far, making it one-of-a-kind. The Bullitt-inspired paint complements the high-performance muscle car incredibly well, creating contrast with the brake lights and reflectors on the rear end, giving the vehicle a sinister air when viewed from the side. In all, it’s a beautiful machine.
Ford Mustang GTD buyers had to jump through all sorts of hoops to acquire the vehicle, starting with an application to be approved by the automaker in the first place. Once approved, they had to place a hefty deposit to secure their spot on the order books. Pricing for the 2025 Mustang GTD starts at around the $325,000 mark, but depending on which variant and options are selected, it can run well into the $400,000 range.

Some might consider that a small price to pay for a (technically) street-legal vehicle that can lap Nürburgring in under seven minutes. With a supercharged 5.2L V8 and 815 horsepower on tap, it’s no surprise that the Mustang GTD appeals to the performance crowd, and is headed for new owners such as big name YouTubers and Hennessey Performance founder and CEO John Hennessey.
