While most would consider the Ford Expedition to be a distinctly American entity, the truth is, that large SUV is being sold in more and more global markets with each passing year. That's particularly true of the redesigned 2025 model, which has launched in a variety of other countries since arriving in the U.S. earlier this year. While the Expedition has proven popular in those markets, its sales figures outside of the U.S. can't really compare to domestic demand, however.
This recent Instagram post from JATO Dynamics automotive analyst Felipe Munoz reveals that The Blue Oval sold a grand total of 85,200 Ford Expedition SUVs across the entire globe in 2024, which sounds like a lot, until we take a look at that model's tally from America alone. Last year, the U.S. accounted for 78,035 of those sales, in fact, which is around 92 percent of that particular total.
The Ford Expedition wasn't alone in that regard, either, as its more luxurious counterpart - the Lincoln Navigator - was also quite slanted in terms of sales in the U.S. versus the rest of the world. In fact, roughly 18,000 Lincoln Navigators were sold across the entire globe in 2024, which seems to be a rounded figure. Regardless, we know that 15,531 of those sales came from the United States last year, meaning that only a very small quantity - around 2,500 units - were sold in markets outside of the states.
That news doesn't come as a huge surprise given the fact that the Lincoln President Dianne Craig previously revealed that the Navigator sells in “relatively low volumes” in places like China. This data certainly seems to back up that statement, even though we don’t have a breakdown of Navigator sales in every global market it’s sold in, as we can see from the large percentage that come from the U.S.
