The Ford F-150 joined Australia’s lineup back in 2023, where it’s being treated to a right-hand drive conversion by a company called RMA Automotive. However, while customers in the U.S. (and other parts of the world) have since taken delivery of the refreshed Ford F-150, that same model was pushed back to mid-2025 for Australia, which debuted this past May. Regardless, it seems as if the Australian Ford F-150 isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and now, shoppers in that part of the world will soon have more variants to choose from.
According to CarExpert, Australian officials have given third-party companies the green light to begin selling specialty versions of the Ford F-150 in that country, which includes entities such as Shelby American. Fox Factory will also be getting in on the game by offering its line of Harley-Davidson Edition pickups, along with the Black Widow models, too. As for the right-hand drive conversions, both of these companies will rely on an outfit called Autogroup International to take care of that process, however.
Interestingly, Autogroup performs those RHD conversions in Sri Lanka, after which the vehicles are shipped to Australia. Those vehicles are engineered to Aussie standards, however, ensuring that they comply with all the rules and regulations of that country – and they come with a five-year warranty, to boot. “Owners enjoy a process comparable to the world’s leading OEM factory programs, backed by comprehensive warranty, parts and aftersales support,” the company said in a statement.
This will certainly come as good news to Australian Ford F-150 fans, who to date have had few options to choose from, in general. There, the popular pickup is sold only in XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trims, and with just one powertrain – the twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost, as well as in SuperCrew configuration only, but with an option for short or long beds.
