Ford China Sales Down 9 Percent To 63,350 Units In February 2016

Ford sold 63,350 vehicles in China during February 2016, a decrease of 9 percent on a year-over-year basis.

Those 63,350 Ford China sales break down as follows:

• Sales at Changan Ford Automobile (CAF), Ford’s passenger car joint venture responsible for selling Ford-branded vehicles, decreased 10 percent to 48,263 units
• Sales at Jiangling Motors Corporation, Ford’s commercial vehicle joint venture abbreviated as JMC, increased 3 percent to 14,054 units

A notable standout during the month was the new Ford Escort. The Focus-based compact accounted for 13,173 sales in February, up 15 percent compared to February 2015.

First Two Months Of 2016

Ford Motor Company’s sales in China during the first two months of the year increased 18 percent year-over-year to 194,182 vehicles sold:

• Changan Ford Automobile year-to-date sales grew 29 percent to 160,119 vehicles
• Jiangling Motor Corporation year-to-date sales decreased 13 percent to 31,309 vehicles
