Some new statistics are in, and they show that despite the gains that some Asian brands are seeing as Ford stepped away from the car segment, crossovers are what most buyers want. Statistics that have come from the Foresight Research Auto Show Immersion Report of Vehicle Purchasers suggest that vehicles like Ford crossovers are what the majority of buyers want. The information from the report was given out by the New York International Auto Show, and the stats show that 58 percent of attendees at the show who responded were considering a small or mid-size crossover.
The data would seem to support Ford’s decision to vacate the car space. Ford has been busy revamping its entire line up, and it has multiple fresh offerings in that mid-size and small crossover space, as does Lincoln. Vehicles that would slot into that segment include the following:
Ford Small Crossovers
Ford Mid-size Crossovers
Lincoln Small Crossover
Lincoln Mid-Size Crossover
The small and mid-size crossover space is where most buyers shop, Ford is getting set to launch revamped versions of the Lincoln Navigator and the Ford Expedition for buyers wanting larger SUVs. Those are expected to land shortly after the refreshed 2021 Ford F-150 pickup. Hybrid versions of the Ford F-150, Navigator, and Expedition are all expected when the updated models land. Ford has continued to face issues with the new 2020 Explorer and Aviator crossovers.

Lincoln can offer two more models. The Ford EcoSport can become the Lincoln Cutlass (Oldsmobile loss the ownership years ago), and the Ford F-150 should return as the Lincoln Blackwood. I wonder if the Ford Expedition can become the Lincoln Battleship? if all become hybrids, Ford and Lincoln will have the largest hybrid line up in automobile history!
