The Blue Oval only recently pulled the veil off the 2023 Ford Escape, debuting the crossover with a revamped trim lineup and a host of premium technologies. Ford Authority got up close and personal with a new Escape ST-Line Elite at the crossover’s reveal event, along with another new trim: the Ford Escape PHEV, which is now a standalone trim option as opposed to a simple powertrain offering.
This particular Escape PHEV is painted in Vapor Blue and features the 2.5L iVCT Atkinson Cycle I4 Hybrid powertrain, which is rated at 210 system horsepower, with power transferred to the pavement via an eCVT. Up front, it shows off the new four-light LED cluster headlight assembly, along with LED fog lamps. Its mirrors match the Vapor Blue body color, and it rolls on 18-inch machined-face magnetic aluminum wheels with painted pockets.
It’s important to note that this Ford Escape PHEV features the PHEV Premium Package. Opting for this package adds $4,530 to the overall cost of the crossover, and bundles the following equipment:
The 2023 Ford Escape PHEV starts at $38,500, thanks to a modest price increase. While the 2023 Escape line does include standard 8-inch infotainment screen or a larger 13.2-inch unit, an upgraded version of Ford Co-Pilot360, and has regained its mini spare tire as standard equipment, the crossover is not available with Ford’s BlueCruise semi-autonomous driving.
We’ll have more on the 2023 Escape soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for more Ford Escape news and ongoing Ford news coverage.
Closing the week at $12.67 per share.
Stellantis - which builds those models in Mexico - is lobbying against it.
Along with a couple of other Blue Oval models.
Potentially enabling owners to change all sorts of things.
Even though it's exported to certain other markets.
The boxy body-on-frame SUV is set to make a comeback.

We can show it off but don’t expect us to build you one any time in 2023.
I really think you should order one just to prove how right you are.
Maybe for the folks that hadn’t been as closely following paint swatches as you do? Nothing wrong with that. Everybody needs a hobby.
Gee...an Escape with a base of ONLY. 38 5 ? What a deal..........
This is the exact version I ordered back in September, other than the moon roof.
Ford delivered 100s of 2022 Escape SEL PHEV to dealers in the first 2 weeks of December. You can probably find quite a few. As of December 26th, Ford is still producing 2022 Ford Escapes, so 2023 Escapes will not start rolling off the line until after January 1st.
Good to know. Last I heard they were starting on the 2023s on December 14th.
Ford Authority posted the 6 week delay to Dec 14 but has not indicated if that started or is delayed again. Come on and publish production info
Got my email today. 2023 Ford escape PHEV s he filed for production the week of March 13th.

The analysts aren’t saying this; only the anal-myopics are.
The idiots that try to compare Ford’s F-Series BEV sales to its ICE vehicles conveniently shear away all context and fact to push their conclusion free imbecilic FUD.
