A four grand rebate? That means that instead of losing just $32,000/unit they will lose $36,000? Scary. And Ford is basing it's future on this flawed business model? Wow.
Consumer Reports dropped the MachE due to poor quality, no thank you. Americans simply aren't interested in EVs.
Why are you discounting electric cars to sell more if you are losing money on them before rebates? Are you trying to go out of business by selling the electric cars consumers don't want instead of the ICE cars that are better for suiting most people's needs?
Also, you have almost nothing to offer people who don't want a truck or an SUV like my wife who has a Lincoln MKZ sedan. You might want to reconsider that business plan which does not seem to be working out too well.
Dealers are STILL adding markups to Mach-E! They are killing your attempts to salvage sales. Allow customers to deal directly with Ford MOCO if they will not sell at MSRP with all company discounts. Customers will go to TESLA as long as the dealers keep up this practice. Customers WANT EV's but don't want to be ripped off!
I can't imagine that's very common. My dealer.has several and they're desperate to try to move them. They would love to sell them at MSRP, but they know they're not going to. They're making deals.tontty to move the Mach Es out because they just can't sell them.
I also think Mach E is just not a great product. The interior is boring, the center screen is garbage, and the interior is more Focus sized than Edge size, which was a mistake. Branding it as a mustang wasn't a great idea either.
My dealer can't find these people you claim want EVs. They're selling below MSRP and nobody wants them.
Seems to me that EV buyers almost exclusively want Teslas. I have a buddy with a Mach E and while he likes it overall, he's not in love with it. He bought it because it was cheap, and the dealer even offered him an attractive upgrade into a mach E GT, that was just too much money to be worth it.
