Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2018-2022 Ford EcoSport crossovers over an issue with the rear seat cover.
The defect: in affected vehicles equipped with part number VNJ1Z-6163812-A/B, the rear seat covers may prevent the air bag from deploying correctly.
The hazards: incorrect air bag deployment can increase the risk of injury in a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this issue.

Affected vehicles: select 2018-2022 Ford EcoSport models produced between January 15th, 2018, and December 29th, 2023.
Number of vehicles affected: 207
The fix: Ford will provide a refund for the rear seat covers.
Owners should: contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24S12.
