The refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer was officially revealed in early February, bringing a welcome update to the crossover in the form of an upgraded exterior and overhauled interior packed chock full of The Blue Oval’s latest technology. Outside, the crossover added one all-new color to its exterior hue lineup, known as Vapor Blue Metallic, bringing the total to seven available paint colors. Today, Ford Authority takes a look at the seven available colors for the 2025 Explorer.

Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat

Carbonized Gray Metallic

Star White Metallic Tri-Coat

Agate Black Metallic

Iconic Silver Metallic

Agate Blue Metallic

Of these colors, only Agate Black Metallic (paint code UM), Iconic Silver Metallic (JS) and Carbonized Gray Metallic (M7) are no-cost options. Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (D4) and Vapor Blue Metallic (K1) each cost $495, while Star White Metallic Tri-Coat is the priciest option at $795. Note that Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat is only available on ST-Line and ST trims, and Oxford White (YZ) is a fleet-only option; as such, there are no photos of this color quite yet. Meanwhile, the remaining four colors are offered on all 2025 Ford Explorer trim levels.

It’s also worth noting that the 2025 Explorer ditched two colors that were previously available on the 2024 Ford Explorer: Forged Green Metallic (L9) and Stone Blue Metallic (C8). The former was first introduced for the 2021 model year before its discontinuation, while the latter had been around since the 2022 model year.

As previously reported by Ford Authority, there are a wide variety of packages available for the 2025 Ford Explorer, with content and availability depending on trim level. However, the crossover is ditching its factory-installed Illuminated Door Entry Keypad for a dealer-installed option, which is an extra-cost option.

Production of the 2025 Explorer will continue at the Chicago Assembly plant, and will begin in May. Pricing starts at $38,670 for the new base Active trim, and it’s worth noting that certain trims are actually more affordable than the outgoing 2024 model year.

We’ll have more on the 2025 Ford Explorer soon, so be sure and subscribe to Ford Authority for the latest Ford Explorer news and comprehensive Ford news updates.
