The Ford Mustang GTD debuted well over a year ago as the ultimate road-going pony car, one that offers up more performance than any model that has preceded it over the past 60 years. The Mustang GTD will also be sold in a variety of global markets aside from the U.S., including Mexico and Europe (but not Australia). Previously, it was expected that the very first Ford Mustang GTD deliveries would begin in Q2 2025, and as it turns out, nothing has altered that plan yet.
According to FoMoCo itself, Ford Mustang GTD deliveries are still on track to begin in Q2 2025, which is notable because a few rumors have been flying around as of late indicating that the high-performing pony car was being pushed back to Q3. As Ford Authority recently reported, those that are privileged enough to take delivery of a new Mustang GTD will be required to keep it for two years – just like the Ford GT that preceded it, however.
Those that do want to purchase a Ford Mustang GTD also had to apply for that privilege and be approved by the automaker, after which they were required to place a hefty deposit on the brand new track-focused machine. Regardless, the Ford Mustang GTD is a pricey machine with an MSRP well over $300k, and it will be offered with an array of options and special packages that will likely push that price tag far higher, so it isn’t exactly a machine that’s within the reach of most, financially speaking.
The Mustang GTD is also a very special and historic machine in that it recently became the very first vehicle from an American brand to complete a lap at the Nurburgring in under seven minutes, posting a certified lap time of 6:57:685 – the fifth-fastest of any stock production sports car at the track. However, The Blue Oval believes that it can do even better at the legendary ‘Ring, and plans to return there for another record attempt at some point this year.
Giving suppliers far less flexibility than before.
Only by a small margin this time, however.
A conversion that was completed way back in the 1970s.
The Blue Oval wanted fresh faces to lead its EV pivot.
As Darrell Waltrip puts it, "You chose a fine time to leave me, loose wheel!"
Sales increased 18 percent to 38,762 units during the first nine months of 2025.

Sweet!
I submitted my desire to buy one via a fairly arduous process. Still haven’t decided to do or not as it’s expensive and I would need to give up something to make room. However, missing out on this opportunity after not being able to afford the GT, and GT40 at the time and since the competition version won Daytona…
Does this include the orders from 2022? Still waiting on my GTD! How about the Raptor R I also place in 2022 and have yet to receive? Both are MIA!
They better make it 2cyears and 5,000 miles or they will all sit around on Jack stands and get sold with two year old oil in the crankcase. They proved it with the gen2 GT’s

That is what could be a $100,00 question.
A $400,00 Super Duper Black Horse Mustang is outrageous at best, but $500,000 is totally ridiculous!
Allocation holders should send them to Trump, with a copy to Farley, who has sold us out.
