Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2021-2022 Ford Edge crossovers previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 22V-151.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the rearview camera can display a blank or distorted image when the vehicle is in reverse.
The hazards: a malfunctioning rearview camera that fails to present a clear image of what is behind the vehicle to the driver increases the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.
Components: rearview camera system.
Affected vehicles: select 2021-2022 Ford Edge models built at the Ford Oakville Assembly Plant between December 15th, 2020, and January 20th, 2022.
Number of vehicles affected: 2,290
The fix: dealers will update the rearview camera software, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on April 24th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S28.
