Ford Ranger Raptor 5.0L V8 Coyote Conversion Kit Debuts

For quite a few years now, more than one enthusiast has managed to V8-swap a Ford Ranger, which is something that the automaker has never done itself – at least, outside of one particular concept from some time ago, along with racing variants. While fans would love to see something like, say, the 5.0L V8 Coyote stuffed in the newest Ford Ranger Raptor (or its more tame counterpart), the truth is, that isn’t likely to ever happen, even though some within The Blue Oval have supported such an idea. The good news is, an Australian company is now offering a conversion kit that enables us to V8 swap the latest generation Ford Ranger Raptor, however.

That company is called Killa Conversions & Performance, and it has been offering V8 conversions for the last-generation Ranger and Ford Ranger Raptor for some time now. However, the company just unveiled its new Coyote swap kit for the current-generation Ford Ranger Raptor, sharing a video of its first running example. Needless to say, it sounds rather amazing, and just makes us pine for such a combination even more than we already did.

Killa Conversions didn’t just stuff a stock, naturally-aspirated Coyote into a Ranger Raptor and call it a day, however – rather, they also gave it a bit of a boost in the form of a Roush supercharger. That upgrade lifts output all the way up to 750 horsepower and 670 pound-feet of torque, which flows to the wheels via an upgraded 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission.

As one might imagine, this type of conversion isn’t exactly cheap, however – rather, it costs a cool $89,000, not including the cost of the donor Ranger Raptor, though that’s a fully-involved, out the door price. As the company points out, that’s actually not terrible given the fact that buying something like a Ford F-150 Raptor R in Australia can set one back as much as $360,000, and they claim that it’s even quicker than that pickup, to boot.
