Watch This 1952 Ford Panel Truck Get Recreated From Wood: Video

Woodworking is one of those hobbies that has truly stood the test of time, and it hasn’t really lost any steam over the years, either. Rather, folks continue to make all sorts of things using nothing but blocks of wood, whether that be furniture, shelving, art, or even just replications of various automotive models. In that latter realm, we’ve certainly seen our fair share of Blue Oval-based wooden models over the years, and now, this new video depicts another one being carved from scratch – a 1952 Ford panel truck.

This video comes to us from the YouTube channel Awesome Woodcraft, which certainly lives up to its name by using a picture of a 1952 Ford panel truck as inspiration for a wooden replica. What’s particularly interesting is this clip is set up in a way that it’s designed to help even novice woodworkers do precisely the same thing, so those that are interested in starting a new hobby can follow along as this vintage machine comes to life.

The process kicks off with a piece of wood and a stencil, and from there, our host uses a bandsaw to cut out individual pieces, one by one. Once the body panels are pieced together, he does some finer detail work with a chisel, rounding out the edges to make the old panel truck look more like the real thing. When the dust settles (quite literally), that’s precisely what has happened, too.

This particular YouTube channel isn’t the only one that we’ve seen create some truly amazing wooden Ford models in recent years, either. In fact, Woodworking Art has been carving out impressively realistic vehicular recreations from blocks of wood for some time now, with a collection that includes a number of Blue Oval products such as a 2020 Ford Ranger Raptor with a working suspension, another Ranger Raptor with a host of “modifications,” a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 replica, a 2013 Ford Mustang GT, and a 2022 Ford Super Duty F-450, to name just a few.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
