The first-generation Ford F-150 SVT Lightning debuted to much fanfare as one of the very first street performance-focused pickups on the market, even if it isn’t exactly a barn burner by today’s standards. Regardless, in today’s collector car market, these same SVT Lightning pickups remain a hot commodity, largely due to their historical significance, relatively low production figures, and of course, cool factor. Now, this 1993 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning is joining that fray as one of the lowest-mile examples we’ve seen in quite some time.

This 1993 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning pickup is currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 150 miles on the clock, in fact, and it spent its entire life with the original owner until the selling dealer acquired it earlier this year. It’s number 1,649 of 5,276 examples produced in this specific model year, and looks no worse for wear with perfect Bright Red paint covering SVT Lightning-specific bodywork. However, that paint had faded a bit on the tailgate and rear bumper, so those parts were refinished to make them perfect again, and new tires were fitted as well.

Peeking inside the cabin is like taking a time machine back to the ’90s as well, as it looks factory fresh with Dark Charcoal cloth seats, a center console with cupholders, a cassette stereo, air conditioning, and cruise control.

Power comes from the fortified 351 cubic-inch V8, which in this guise was factory-rated to produce 240 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

While we see our fair share of first-generation SVT Lightning pickups hit the auction block these days, most don’t have as low a mileage total as this one. However, there are plenty of low-mile examples out there, including a 1993 model with 33k miles, as well as a 1994 version of the performance pickup that had covered 26k miles when it surfaced for sale.

  • Love the first gen Lightning. Was in High School when they first came out. The one in the article is beautiful.

I wish Ford had used a different name for their BEV F150. I have wanted Ford to bring back the Lightning performance truck in a 2wd short bed like the first and second generation. Now that won't happen.
