2021-2024 Ford Bronco Performance Calibration Vouchers Debut

Back in September 2022, Ford Performance added performance calibrations for the Ford Bronco with either the 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost or 2.7L V6 EcoBoost engines to its catalog, providing a bit of a power boost for the rugged SUV. A few months later, Ford launched a software update for those calibrations that added some user-requested features, such as the ability to make changes after swapping out gear ratios. Now, the 2021-2024 Ford Bronco has been treated to a new and rather interesting product via the Ford Performance catalog – performance calibration vouchers.

These new performance calibration vouchers are listed under part number M-9603-B23VO for 2.3L models, and M-9603-B27VO for 2.7L equipped SUVs, with a retail price of $400 either way. The 2.3L calibration boosts output from 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque to 330 horsepower and 385 pound-feet – gains of 30 horsepower and 60 pound-feet, respectively, while the 2.7L versions gets an upgrade from 330 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque to 355 horsepower and 433 pound-feet of torque – gains of 25 horsepower and 18 pound-feet.

Each has been engineered and dyno tested by Ford Performance, requires premium fuel, optimizes the transmission’s shift schedule and throttle response throughout RPM range, and comes with a year, 36k-mile warranty when installed by a Ford dealer or ASE/Red Seal certified technician. Both also enable various upgrades including the ability to run tires as large as 37×12.5R17, an axle ratio of 5.38, and the beefier M190 to M210 front drive units.

Interestingly, however, these calibrations can’t be installed with just the voucher – rather, users must also have the Pro-Cal 4 Tool present in the aforementioned kit, which is vehicle specific as well, meaning that users can’t share them amongst themselves. However, Ford does sell that particular tool on its own under part number M-12655-F for $510, so it makes sense that it would also offer these calibrations separately as well – especially since they can be delivered by themselves in short order.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
