Subaru continues to roll out new all-electric models, even as many other automotive brands are dialing back their expansion plans in that particular area amid weak demand. In the past few months alone, that list includes the 2026 Subaru Solterra – a revamped Ford Mustang Mach-E rival – as well as the more rugged, off-road-focused 2026 Trailseeker. That expansion isn’t quite finished yet, however, as the Mach-E is gaining yet another all-electric crossover rival in the form of the new 2026 Subaru Uncharted.
As was the case with the Solterra – a vehicle that was co-developed with Toyota and shares much in common with the bZ4X – the 2026 Subaru Uncharted is essentially that brand’s take on the CH-R. As such, it’s set to become the smallest EV in Subaru’s lineup, and it will also be the first model from that brand (save for the BRZ) to come standard in a front-wheel drive configuration in many years. It rides on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, and shares a lot in common visually with the CH-R, albeit, with more rugged-looking bodywork.
In base FWD Premium form, the 2026 Subaru Uncharted gets a single electric motor churning out 221 horsepower, and its 75 kWh battery is expected to deliver 300 miles of range. The AWD version comes in both Sport and GT trims, and adds a second electric motor out back to deliver 338 horsepower – good for a 0-60 time of less than five seconds, and around 290 miles of range with the same battery pack.
Inside the cabin, the 2026 Subaru Uncharted comes equipped with a 14-inch infotainment screen, seating for five, heated seats, ambient lighting, two wireless phone charging pads, a square steering wheel, orange trim, and optional water-repellent seat upholstery. The EV crossover also comes with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, plus charging speeds as high as 150 kW. Pricing for the new Uncharted has yet to be revealed, but the new EV is expected to launch in early 2026.
Jeep is opting to keep its V8-powered SUV, after all.
Sales increased 18 percent to 28,230 units during the first seven months of 2025.
Looked pretty damn authentic upon first glance.
