The Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally debuted as an off-road-ready version of the electric crossover. The Blue Oval teased a special, purpose-built example of the Mustang Mach-E last month, and now, it’s finally been revealed, and it’s an overland-prepared, rally-inspired beast.
Off-road racer Jim Beaver is the brains behind the build, which he’s dubbed the Ford Mustang Mach-E “Livewire.” The electric crossover has a whopping 480 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque on tap. It features a REDARC Electronics battery system cradled in the frunk, which Beaver says has enough juice to power his entire camp for a few days during overland adventures.
The ensemble rolls on a set of tough Grabber AT/X tires to give it plenty of bite in off-road situations. It’s lifted, too, giving it more clearance than its stock brethren with springs and spacers from performance suspension outfit Eibach. To top it all off – literally – Beaver installed racks for e-bikes, snowboards, skateboards, and other extreme sporting equipment.
In Beaver’s own words, he just couldn’t leave the exterior alone, either. He put his own spin on it, which includes a full carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber wheel flares, and a “crazy electricity wrap” to make it stand out. It’s also fitted with an audio system from Kicker Audio, Adapt XP Amber Pro exterior lighting from Rigid, and a Rugged Radios comms system.
“This car truly reflects my lifestyle,” Beaver says. “I could go overlanding, I could rallycross race, and I can take it on my e-bikes, my skateboards, my snowboards and all things action sports related. It truly is the ultimate Swiss army knife of EVs.”
The Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally is one tough customer. It builds on the GT trim with a host of off-road and rally-prepared goodies right from the showroom floor. The Blue Oval put its prototype Rally model through rigorous testing to ensure it could hold up to the task, and were pleased – if not surprised – with the electric crossover’s performance over rugged, demanding terrain.
It shows a lot of promise thus far.
He apparently tuned his pickup and now needs pricey repairs.
A nifty way to conceal additional lighting sources when they aren't needed.
The resulting mine will churn out massive amounts of the material when it's finished.
Not much has changed on that front.
A nice little touch under the hood.

This thing? Off-roading? what a joke. I guess some people's definition of off-roading is just a dirt road.
