Wireless smartphone charging pads are becoming increasingly rare across The Blue Oval’s lineup. The 2025 Ford Bronco and the 2025 Ford Mustang both ditched the feature – and now, it’s gone from the 2026 Ford Maverick, too.
According to sources familiar with the matter, the 2026 Ford Maverick does not offer the wireless charging pad at all, meaning it’s not available with any trim or package. For comparison, its predecessor, the 2025 Maverick, included a wireless charging pad as part of the Lobo High equipment group, but not the Lobo Standard equipment group. It was also standard on Lariat and Tremor trims, and was not offered on the XL or XLT trims.
The deletion of the wireless charging pad isn’t the only change bound for the 2026 Ford Maverick. Most notably, the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 EcoBoost engine is once again available with front-wheel-drive (FWD) after the combination was ditched for the 2025 model year. That configuration represents the most affordable model in the lineup. When the 2.0L I4 and FWD are equipped on the entry level XL trim, pricing starts out at $27,145 without destination freight charges (DFC), making it $1,000 cheaper than the Maverick XL 2.5L hybrid FWD.
That’s not to say all-wheel-drive (AWD) makes the compact pickup prohibitively expensive, though. The 2026 Ford Maverick EcoBoost AWD model costs a mere $1,000 more, tying the hybrid FWD model with a starting MSRP of $28,145, while the AWD hybrid costs a bit more at $30,365.
Other updates include the deletion of the power-sliding rear window as standard equipment on the 2026 Ford Maverick Tremor and Lariat trims, although it’s still available as an optional extra. It’s also a late-availability option on the Lobo High equipment group. Meanwhile, a conventional rear tire is being offered as a standalone extra. The black Ford ovals, which were previously included in certain packages and on certain trims, are also gone from the Maverick.
The 2026 Ford Maverick is gaining two new exterior color options: Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat and Marsh Gray. Every trim in the lineup is getting a complimentary one-year subscription for the Ford Connectivity Package, while a seven-year alternative is available to purchase, too, and a conventional spare tire is now offered as a standalone option with increased availability. To help meet demand, Ford is boosting production capacity for the XL, Hybrid, and Lariat AWD models.
