While older Ford Mustang models have always been popular with enthusiasts and collectors alike, we’re also seeing newer versions of the iconic pony car start to gain traction in that market, too. This includes the S197 generation model, which has always been a fan favorite thanks to its simplicity, strong performance, and timeless retro style. Now, this very nice, very low-mile 2006 Ford Mustang GT is looking to join that list, and it certainly seems primed to do so.
This 2006 Ford Mustang GT is currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 7k miles on the clock, after it remained with the original owner until 2022. The seller has owned the coupe since then, but now, they’re looking to potentially cash in when the market for these cars is admittedly hot. It’s certainly a nice example of the S197 pony car, sporting seemingly perfect Satin Silver Metallic paint, coupled with 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels wrapped with 235/55 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires.
Inside, one will find an ultra-tidy interior with Dark Charcoal leather seats, plus amenities including a power-adjustable driver’s seat, keyless entry, cruise control, air conditioning, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a touchscreen Boss head unit with smartphone connectivity.
Power for this pony car comes from the naturally-aspirated 4.6L V8, which was factory-rated to produce 300 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Underneath, one will also find front and rear stabilizer bars, plus four-wheel disc brakes.
Along with this pristine Ford Mustang GT, we’ve spotted quite a few other nice, lower-mile S197 pony cars recently. That list includes a 2006 GT with just 4k miles, as well as a 2006 GT convertible that was also rather nice but had a more substantial 49k miles, joined by a super-rare Shelby GT-H with a mere 1,500 miles.
