When it comes to in-vehicle technology, things tend to change pretty quickly in today’s world, and that’s especially true of infotainment software. Ford has launched several versions of SYNC over the years, for example, and is in the process of ditching that entirely and moving to the new Ford/Lincoln Digital Experience, which was developed in conjunction with Google. Regardless, there are some benefits to newer versions like SYNC 4 that owners of older Blue Oval models may covet. Now, those who own a 2013-2020 Ford Fusion can upgrade to that newer software, thanks to a new aftermarket offering.
A company called Infotainment is now offering 2013-2020 Ford Fusion owners the chance to purchase a complete SYNC 4 upgrade kit, which contains all of the OEM parts and associated programming required to bring the sedan into the more modern era of infotainment. That includes the larger 8-inch screen, along with features such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, built-in navigation, and SiriusXM X65 capability.
Along with the OEM Ford 8-inch display, this kit also comes with the genuine Blue Oval SYNC 4 APIM module, a retrofit bracket, wiring interface, LVDS video cable, an OBD Genie Mixed Mode Programmer, USD media hub and cable, and a magnetic GPS antenna, if one’s Fusion isn’t equipped with OEM navigation from the factory. The cost of the kit ranges from $1,899.95-$2,099.95, depending on the model year and presence of embedded navigation.
This Ford Fusion SYNC 4 upgrade kit is just the latest to land for a Blue Oval vehicle that didn’t originally come equipped with that software, too. Back in July 2024, the 2022-2024 Ford Maverick also gained a similar kit, and now more than one company sells that same upgrade for the compact pickup. There are also a lot of kits that allow owners of MyFord Touch (Sync 2) equipped vehicles to get SYNC 3 units in a wide variety of models, too.

Doubt more than 2 will do it for that $. I won’t have mine that much longer to make the investment worthwhile.
