Ford has announced a slew of executive leadership changes as new CEO Jim Hackett begins to lay out his vision for the automaker. Most significantly, Raj Nair—who previously served as the company’s executive vice president, Product Development, and chief technical officer—will lead Ford North America.
“The leadership changes we are announcing today across our global business are important as we foster even greater teamwork, accountability and nimble decision-making,” Hackett said. “I am excited to work together with Bill Ford and such a talented and diverse group of leaders to create a more vibrant Ford that delivers value for all of our stakeholders.”
Nair will assume the title as Executive Vice President of North America, and will report to Jim Farley. Farley has been named executive vice president and President Global Markets.
Other major moves amid the executive shuffle include:
Ford announced Mark Fields, the automaker’s CEO for less than three years, would be replaced by Hackett four days ago after slumping stock prices, mostly attributed to the automaker’s slumping profitability. Hackett is tasked with outlining a clear vision to move Ford forward after the company’s board felt Fields lacked the vision to do so.
Nair’s appointment is effective June 1, 2017.
The Italian company blows away everyone else in that regard.
Nothing else has seemingly changed but the price.
Its outlook remains a bit mixed.
He's taking a wait and see approach as some brands jump onboard.
Improving year-over-year, along with the entire market.
